The generation 'O' (stands for 'overworked, 'overweight', and 'overwhelmed') does not only exist in the developed countries. Even the middle class Indonesian also have to deal with these three horrifying big 'O's,  due to the lack of awareness to live a healthy lifestyle.

According to studies, most Asians are actually quite concerned about their health. Although they are aware that these health issues can be prevented by changing one's lifestyle; getting enough excercise, good nutrition intake and stress management. However, these desires are rarely fulfilled because they never have enough time to take a break (overworked), that makes them easily get tired (overwhelmed). On top of that, they lack of any physical activity to burn calories results in many of them becoming obese (overweight).

Health expert;  ex-chairman of the Indonesian Doctor Association (IDI), dr. Kartono Muhammad stated that the symptoms of generation 'O' do not only occur in big cities, but also in the countryside. This is signified by the high numbers of diabetics and smokers in the country. The only difference is that people in countryside still engage in many physical activities. Therefore Dr. Kartono Muhammad recomends that people start improving their lifestyle by excercising, maintaining a healthy diet and stop smoking.
