JAKARTA, 29 December 2025 — In commemoration of the 61st National Health Day (HKN), PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk (Darya-Varia), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, held a National Health Seminar titled “Towards 50 Years of Darya-Varia: Building a Healthy Generation for a Brilliant Future” at Cibis Park, Jakarta, on 29 November 2025. The event was attended by Darya-Varia’s management, representatives from the Ministry of Health, health sector stakeholders, Darya-Varia employees, communities, and the general public.
Delivering the keynote address, Dita Novianti Sugandi Argadiredja, S.Si., Apt., MM, Director of Pharmaceutical Production and Distribution at the Ministry of Health, emphasized that the Primary Healthcare Transformation—the first pillar of Indonesia’s ongoing national health reform—is an essential foundation for building a healthier society. This pillar focuses on strengthening promotive-preventive efforts, improving health screening, and ensuring robust primary care services nationwide. She also reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for initiatives that provide tangible benefits to communities, including collaborative programs such as those conducted with Darya-Varia.
She highlighted the strategic role of the pharmaceutical industry—not only in producing medicines, but also in providing medical devices that can accelerate early disease detection. Dita expressed her hope that Darya-Varia will continue to strengthen its contribution to national health priorities as the company approaches its 50th anniversary.
“Today’s event provides an opportunity for the public to access free health screenings. I also hope Darya-Varia can regularly provide free medical check-ups. The pharmaceutical industry encompasses more than medicines; it includes medical devices. I hope the newly introduced device will support early disease detection in communities. I look forward to Darya-Varia continuing its support for Indonesia’s health transformation toward a Golden Indonesia 2045,” she stated.
In his remarks, dr. Ian Kloer, President Director of Darya-Varia, reaffirmed the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the government’s vision by improving health and well-being across Indonesia. “National Health Day is a significant moment for raising public awareness and encouraging collective action to improve health. Through this event, we hope to inspire a national movement that motivates communities to adopt healthy living habits,” said dr. Ian Kloer.
As part of efforts to build a strong and healthy generation, raising awareness and encouraging collective action regarding public health conditions is critically important. This is reflected in the findings of the 2023 Indonesia Health Survey (SKI), which show that challenges related to non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension and diabetes remain a concern.
Compared to the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), the 2023 SKI results published by the Ministry of Health indicate a decrease in hypertension prevalence based on blood pressure measurements. However, the number of individuals unaware of their hypertension or diabetes status remains significant. Approximately 8% of individuals aged 18–59 do not know they have diabetes, and around 20% are unaware they have hypertension. The figures are even higher among those aged 60 and above—18% for diabetes and 34% for hypertension. Additionally, around 30% of respondents across both age groups do not know their type of diabetes.
To keep the number of people with hypertension and diabetes under control, early detection of these non-communicable diseases is essential. Early diagnosis enables timely treatment, helping prevent further complications—given that hypertension and diabetes can lead to disability, increased mortality, and greater economic burden.
Innovative Solution: Darya-Varia Responds to Health Challenges with Divi Lab
Recognizing the importance of raising public awareness about health—particularly regarding non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hyperuricemia—a comprehensive and collaborative approach is essential. Darya-Varia has developed an innovative solution aligned with the Ministry of Health’s national screening program.
Darya-Varia introduced Divi Lab, Indonesia’s first locally produced IoT- (internet technology) and AI-based medical device for measuring blood glucose, cholesterol, uric acid, and blood pressure. Developed in collaboration with PT Astra Komponen Indonesia (ASKI), one of the country’s leading medical device manufacturers, this innovation is expected to support the Ministry of Health’s screening initiatives and contribute to reducing the high prevalence of NCDs in Indonesia.
Dr. Ian Kloer added that the presence of Divi Lab reflects the company’s commitment to delivering health solutions that meet the needs of modern society. This innovation is positioned to make a tangible contribution to accelerating early detection of non-communicable diseases—a major priority within Indonesia’s health transformation agenda.
Through collaboration with patient communities and various stakeholders, this initiative is also expected to increase awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyles and early health screening as part of efforts to build a sustainable health ecosystem.
As part of its broader social impact efforts, Darya-Varia is amplifying this campaign by engaging multiple patient communities to promote awareness about healthy living and early detection of chronic diseases. This collaboration serves as a concrete example of synergy between the company and the community in fostering positive change in the health sector.
Darya-Varia Promotes Healthy Lifestyles through “Health is Wealth – 50 Days of Wellness Challenge”
To commemorate its upcoming 50th anniversary, Darya-Varia also launched “Health is Wealth – 50 Days of Wellness Challenge”, a national movement encouraging Indonesians to adopt simple, consistent healthy habits.
“For five decades, Darya-Varia has been part of Indonesian families’ health journeys. Through the Health is Wealth – 50 Days of Wellness Challenge, we hope to inspire everyone to treat health as a core investment for a more productive and prosperous future,” dr. Ian Kloer concluded.
The campaign encourages public participation in activities such as nutrition education, light exercise programs, and daily wellness challenges—reinforcing the message that small, consistent actions can create meaningful improvements in overall quality of life.
