Darya-Varia achieves outstanding achievement for contribution to green vision & mission; green action; and green commitment by winning the Indonesia Green Leader for Green Orientation in Creating Healthy Environment to Enhance Community Well-Being Award for dr. Ian Kloer, President Director of PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk at the Indonesia’s Top Green Leaders Award 2024.

The award ceremony was organized by Warta Ekonomi in Jakarta on Tuesday (30/07) under the theme ‘Green Orientation and Sustainability Initiatives with Progressive Movements’. The award aims to encourage companies to enhance their performance in supporting green growth orientation.

The event was attended by notable figures such as the Leader of Warta Ekonomi & Chief Editor, Muhamad Ihsan, Indonesia's Minister of Trade for the 2015-2016 period, Thomas T. Lembong, and the Expert Staff to the Minister of Environment and Forestry for Natural Resource Economics at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Tasdiyanto, along with several representatives from other institutions.

Dr. Ian Kloer expressed his appreciation for the award given to Company as a form of support, loyalty, and collaboration that Company has received from various stakeholders, ranging from employees to customers, and from suppliers to industry regulators.

Darya-Varia's sustainability journey is a multi-faceted effort, all of which are integral parts of the business strategy and reflect Company's commitment to creating a sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future, where all stakeholders are actively and productively engaged.

 

Based on the research report from Warta Ekonomi regarding this award, Company is committed to managing the environment around its operational areas in accordance with the Environmental Management Efforts and Environmental Monitoring Efforts (UKL-UPL). The Company maintains various aspects related to environmental management, including waste management strategies, greenhouse gas emission reductions, energy and water efficiency, and various nature conservation initiatives.

Company implements a 3R waste management system (reduce, reuse, recycle) to reduce waste loads to final disposal sites and minimize negative impacts, and non-hazardous waste is recycled into organic fertilizer. In 2022, Company successfully contributed 795 kg of domestic waste as fertilizer for the Environmental Friendly Village (KRL) and sponsored Healthy Village.

Company continues to build sustainable relationships with local communities around its operational areas. One of the sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs is 2023 Healthy Village, in collaboration with Karang Asem Barat Village and related Government Offices. This program includes various activities aimed at raising public awareness about healthy lifestyles, maintaining environmental cleanliness, providing medical equipment, and empowering the community to create a healthy environment with a positive impact on the economy and community independence.

The award achieved reflects Company's ongoing efforts to demonstrate its commitment to generating sustainable value for shareholders, creating positive impacts for the community, preserving the environment, and meeting the goal of contributing to building a healthier Indonesia.
