UV Threat for the Skin
Ultraviolet (UV) has benefits for the skin because it helps the production of vitamin D in the skin. This vitamin owns the benefits as well for the body, which are to keep the body immune and to help the bone growth. Therefore, a 30-minute morning sunbathing is recommended to do.
Yet, do you know that not all rays emitted by the sun is good for the skin. The sun ray contains a wide range of wave with various length. UV-A has a wavelength of 100 nanometers (nm) until 290 nm. UV-B wavelength is 290 nm to 320 nm. The longer of UV ray wave, the bigger damage impact for the skin.
UV-A ray gives an impact on the aging problems, while the effects of UV-B ray cause sunburn. Both could harm the skin health and trigger skin cancer. Therefore, we should be more careful in selecting and using the right sunscreen which is able to coat and to protect the skin intensively.
