PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk. (“Darya-Varia” or “the Company”) was established in 1976 as a ‘Domestic Investment/ DI’ pharmaceutical company. For more than 40 years, Darya-Varia has consistently moved forward to fulfil the needs of the healthcare sector in Indonesia.
Following an Initial Public Offering in November 1994, the Company became a public company, listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The next year saw the acquisition of PT Pradja Pharin (Prafa), and a broad expansion of the Company’s product range, offering popular branded Prescription and Consumer Health products. The Company and Prafa merged in 2014, streamlining their business and administration processes, consolidating the Companies’ assets and liabilities in July 2014.
Darya-Varia operates two manufacturing facilities that have conformed to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) as specified in The Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention and Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-Operation Scheme (“PIC/S”), as well as the standards established by the Indonesian Food and Drugs Authority (BPOM).
The Gunung Putri plant specializes in producing soft gelatin capsules, liquid products, medicinal plasters, ointments and cream. The Citeureup plant specializes in sterile injectables and solids in the form of tablets and capsules.
As of to date, in line with the Company’s commitment to provide high-quality, safe and reliable products, all its pareto products have received halal certification, including such products as Silex, Imunped, Degirol, Urdafalk and Moloco.
92.13% of Darya-Varia shares are held by Blue Sphere Singapore Pte. Ltd. (BSSPL), an affiliate of United Laboratories, Inc. (Unilab). Established in 1945, Unilab is currently the largest pharmaceutical company in the Philippines, with a network of affiliates throughout Asia.
